About 100 of us found our way to Grace’s Barn on Sunday evening for our annual Carols in the Barn service. It was particularly kind of Michael and Frances Gray to allow us to carry this out this year as the same barn is to be used on Monday for the wake after the Thanksgiving Service for Harry Gray who died recently.
David Truslove played the electric piano; Robert Hall managed the lights, Chris Ellis managed the sound, Sonia Cragg provided much stage management help; Charlotte Appleby and family managed the mulled wine and mince pies and Patrick Appleby and Simon Ffennell managed the parking. Thank you so much to all of them.
Thank you also to Duncan Gray who brought up four of his sheep to add that special additional something to the nativity tableau. They were very well behaved and seemed very happy to be surrounded by several small children patting them on the head and pulling their wool.
Our tableau was put together by Jessica Cragg as Mary, Joseph Rember as Joseph, James Rember as the Innkeeper, Ellie Rember as the angel Gabriel, Gerry Stacey and Jim Wright as shepherds, Oliver Denniss, Richard Hunt and Wojtek Rackowitz as wise men. Our readers were Rebecca Fardell, Sara Mason, Lucy Pease, Amanda Rember and Robert Hall.
It was a great start to Christmas 2015 and thank you so much to everyone who took part.
